I highly recommend this book,”Sifted Like Wheat In Silo Country.” Dawn survived trials in the Texas prison system that would be challenging for the average person to survive. Yet she did it, keeping her eyes on Jesus and recognizing His hand through it all. For those who are tested beyond endurance, this is the book to read. Dawn shares powerfully from the Word of God to encourage and give hope when tested by fire. Submitted by Sharon Kilheffer

The fact that Dawn survived this huge series of ordeals is miraculous in itself. One of the main things that stuck out to me was how literally crazy the Texas Women’s Prison system is…..all hospital medical interventions are located in Galveston…..(a significant distance from most Texas cities.) Many of the inmates and staff seemed to be resigned to the brutality of their situation and didn’t offer much grace or kindness to anyone else. There were a few individuals who were kind and caring and thank God for that. The book demonstrates the amazing resilience of the human spirit when it is partnered with God.
